THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE 16TH / 17TH SEPTEMBER 2017

On 16/17 September 2017, a team of intrepid hikers will be doing the Three Peaks Challenge. They will be attempting to climb the highest peaks of England (Scafell Pike 978m), Wales (Mt Snowdon 1,085m), and Scotland (Ben Nevis 1,344m) in a 24 hour period. This adventure has 2,926 metres of climbing (nearly 10,000ft) and a total walking distance of over 36km.

They will be raising money for a minibus for our clinic on the Island of Pemba on which many children are born with Club Foot - approx 20 cases each month on an Island with a population of just over 362,000.

The minibus is urgently needed for the clinic in order to visit the remote villages on the Island, provide a home transport service and to transport complex cases to and from the clinic. It will be invaluable in enabling the Charity to spread the word that treatment is available for this crippling disability and bring life and hope to those children who suffer with such pain and to the newborns whose lives can be transformed before their very first steps.
Please help us make a difference to these children's lives. Without treatment they will be disabled and unable to walk or run properly for the rest of their lives. The chances for these children without treatment are bleak.

HOW CAN I HELP?

Ponseti Walk - Menorca 2014

I was born in 2004 with both of my feet turned inwards - clubfeet. My Mum and Dad found out about a doctor called Dr Ponseti who had found a way of making feet better without being operated on. Dr Ponseti has helped thousands and thousands of children to be able to walk and run with no pain (like me). Dr Ponseti would have been 100 years old on June 3rd this year. On 17th May, I am doing a sponsored walk in Menorca, where Dr Ponseti was born. I want to raise money for children with clubfoot, who are born in Zanzibar so that they can also walk properly. There is a charity called Infant Clubfoot Appeal who work in Zanzibar, and any sponsorship will go to them. thank you, love from Anthony.
